$550K Stolen from Crypto User via Phishing Ad on Google

A user of the cryptocurrency platform Hyperliquid lost $550,000 in USDC after falling victim to a phishing scam on Google. The user clicked on a fraudulent ad that led to a fake website mimicking the crypto platform.

The attacker then moved the stolen funds to multiple addresses, as confirmed by blockchain data.

Google has suspended the malicious advertiser and highlighted its efforts to block scam ads, but security groups warn that such attacks targeting crypto users via fake ads are ongoing.
