The FBI has seized approximately $560,000 in cryptocurrency intended for Hamas' military wing, the Al Qassam Brigades. According to court filings, an encrypted group chat directed supporters to a website called AlQassam.ps, where rotating wallet addresses solicited donations.

Assistant Director of the FBI's Cyber Division Brett Leatherman stated that Hamas relied on cryptocurrency and online platforms to collect funds from donors worldwide. The Justice Department announced that investigators traced and confiscated the crypto under three warrants dated March 25, June 25, and October 10, 2025.

The action follows years of efforts by authorities to disrupt Hamas-linked cryptocurrency fundraising. In 2023, Israeli police froze Binance accounts linked to Hamas, while in 2024, Binance said it had frozen about 14% of more than 1,500 wallets flagged by Israel.
