$57 Million in Crypto Income: Trump Family's WLFI Venture Surpasses $1.2 Billion
Donald Trump Jr. has come forward to address concerns over his father's financial disclosure, which revealed $57.35 million in income from World Liberty Financial, a family cryptocurrency venture.
The money comes from WLFI token sales conducted by World Liberty Financial, which launched in September 2024. The president is listed as 'co-founder emeritus' and stands to receive up to 75% of net proceeds along with his sons Donald Jr., Eric, and Zach Witkoff from the Witkoff family.
A subsequent financial disclosure showed the numbers had ballooned dramatically. WLF's token sales alone generated over $500 million in reported revenue. When you add in earnings from the $TRUMP meme coin, which brought in roughly $635 million through associated entities, total crypto-related income for the year surpassed $1.2 billion.
The Trump family uses a revocable trust arrangement, where the president's assets are overseen by his sons but can be modified or dissolved at any time. This is not a blind trust, as the president knows exactly what assets are in it and just isn't supposed to manage them day-to-day.
