$57M Crypto Income Raises Questions About Trump Family's Financial Arrangement
Donald Trump Jr. has responded to questions about his father's financial disclosure, which revealed $57.35 million in income from World Liberty Financial (WLF), a cryptocurrency venture. The president owns these assets but doesn't access or manage them, as they are held in a revocable trust overseen by Trump Jr. and his brothers.
The money comes from WLF token sales conducted by World Liberty Financial, which launched in September 2024. Trump is listed as 'co-founder emeritus' of WLF. His sons, Donald Jr. and Eric, along with Zach Witkoff from the Witkoff family, handle the active operations.
The trust arrangement adds a layer of separation, but it's a revocable trust. Unlike a blind trust, where the beneficiary genuinely doesn't know what's inside, a revocable trust can be modified or dissolved by its creator at any time.
