600 BTC from 2010 Mining Era Awakens, Valued at $48M
A significant amount of Bitcoin, approximately $48 million worth, was recently transferred from inactive wallets that had been dormant for over 16 years. The collective 600 BTC originated from mining activity in March 2010 during the era of 50 BTC block rewards.
The transfers were made by addresses that mined specific blocks, with Whale Alert conducting comprehensive blockchain analysis and determining there's no association with Bitcoin's creator, Satoshi Nakamoto. This conclusion was drawn after examining all 12 mining rewards, including the initial investigation into seven wallets.
A key aspect of this discovery is that coins from the 'Satoshi era' don't automatically qualify as 'Satoshi's coins,' highlighting the importance of differentiating between these concepts to avoid speculative market reactions.
