$69 Billion Stablecoin Reserve on Exchanges Sparks Rally Fears

A record-breaking $69 billion in exchange-held stablecoin reserves has been recorded by CryptoQuant contributor Crazzyblockk, representing approximately 22% of the entire stablecoin market. Binance holds the largest single pool of deployable funds, with a staggering $49 billion, roughly 71% of all exchange-based stablecoin capital.

The top three exchanges - Binance, OKX, and Bybit - control about 94% of exchange stablecoin reserves, with Binance alone holding close to 15% of global stablecoin supply. In December, $8 billion in stablecoins left exchanges, including $3 billion from Bybit and about $2 billion from Binance.

The concentration of liquidity has intensified scrutiny over whether markets are positioned for a significant rally once investor sentiment shifts. Analysts warn that retail traders and whales were buying simultaneously on Binance, while some predict this move could be another short-lived rebound due to negative capital flows and continued spot ETF outflows.
