69% of Russians Still in Dark About Crypto Use Cases After Legalization

Share

Russia's recent legalization of cryptocurrency has not yet translated into public understanding. A survey conducted by Rambler, Russia's largest search engine, found that a staggering 69% of respondents do not know any real-world use cases for digital assets.

The survey polled over 2,000 users and revealed that half of the respondents do not use cryptocurrency and therefore see no direct impact from its legalization on their daily lives. Only 6% said the news of legalization made them want to learn more about crypto, while an equal share claimed to be well-informed and have personal trading experience.

The results highlight a significant disconnect between regulatory progress and public understanding. The new law, signed by President Putin, brings the cryptocurrency market under Russia's regulatory umbrella and establishes rules for its circulation. Key provisions are expected to take effect on September 1.
