$70M Bitcoin Movie Portrays Craig Wright as Satoshi
A $70 million film titled Bitcoin has entered post-production, directed by Doug Liman and starring Gal Gadot, Casey Affleck, Pete Davidson, and Isla Fisher. The movie's depiction of Craig Wright as Satoshi Nakamoto is expected to spark controversy within the Bitcoin community.
Director Doug Liman's $70 million film has entered the fifth stage of production, where raw footage is assembled and polished into a finished movie. The film's content creator, Terence Michael, notes that it lacks a major domestic distributor prior to release.
Micheal warns that the film's portrayal of Wright as Nakamoto will likely rile Bitcoiners and divide the industry. 'Based on the film's premise, the movie is going to skew toward Craig Wright being Satoshi,' he explained. 'How could he not be Satoshi if a coalition of tech billionaires, governments, and crypto organizations spent hundreds of millions just to discredit him? That will be the narrative.'
The movie appears to revive an old controversy that subsided after a U.K. court ruling rejected Wright's claim. The involvement of Calvin Ayre, a known supporter and promoter of Wright's assertion, lends credence to the theory that supporters are using Hollywood A-listers to circumvent the court ruling.
