$7.8M Gnosis Wallet Hack Spurs Kelp DAO Freeze
A Gnosis Safe wallet was exploited for nearly $7.8 million in rsETH on September 15, leaving DeFi liquidity severely drained.
The attack was carried out against an unidentified user's wallet, which had authorized a whitelisted Safe module as a strategy executor to automate DeFi earnings.
The trusted module turned out to be the entry point of the attack, allowing the exploiter to drain 2,153 ETH in a single transaction. The funds were later split and moved across multiple wallets.
Kelp DAO froze all deposited rsETH from the affected address as a precautionary measure after discovering the Yoink bot had front-ranned the exploiter and taken control of the funds. The bot's destination address now contains only 44 ETH, but it does not guarantee the return of the stolen funds.
