$89 Million Bitcoin Heist Blamed on New AI-Driven Cybersecurity Threat

A recent string of attacks on Coldcard wallets has left thousands of dollars in cryptocurrency stolen, prompting Coinkite Inc. to warn that a 'new AI paradigm' is changing the cybersecurity landscape.

The theft of at least $89 million worth of BTC occurred after attackers identified flaws in the algorithm used by the wallets, which did not generate sufficiently random numbers.

Rodolfo Novak, CEO of Coinkite Inc., stated that 'AI-assisted code review can now find latent bugs at a speed that is outpacing even the industry's most seasoned experts.'

The attacks demonstrate that hardware wallets, often considered safer than centralized storage services, are not immune to risks.
