$9.7 Million Crypto Exploit Rocks Industry as Wallets are Drained
A major security incident has shaken the cryptocurrency industry after several high-profile wallets were targeted in an exploit that resulted in over $9.7 million worth of digital assets being drained.
The incident, first highlighted by on-chain analyst Specter, involved unusual outflows from Triple-A hot wallets across multiple blockchain networks, including TRON, Ethereum, Polygon, and Arbitrum.
The stolen assets were later consolidated into approximately 5,227 ETH, suggesting that the attacker or attackers attempted to centralize the funds after moving them across multiple networks.
Crypto security researchers are concerned about the ongoing deposit activity during the suspected exploit, which could increase potential losses if the vulnerability remains unresolved.
