$97M Heist Hits Global Fiat-to-Crypto Payment Gateway
Triple-A, a global fiat-to-crypto payment gateway, has been hit by a massive hack. Over $9.7 million was drained from its hot wallets across various blockchain networks.
According to Peckshield, the security firm investigating the incident, attackers targeted Triple-A's internet-connected hot wallets on Ethereum, Solana, TRON, TON, and other platforms.
The hackers stole over $9.7 million worth of crypto, mostly stablecoins, before rapidly swapping them on decentralized exchanges and bridging them to Ethereum.
Most of the stolen funds were transferred on July 24 and July 25, with a single large transaction moving 4,140 ETH into the wallet.
