a16z, a prominent venture capital firm, has made significant investments in HYPE. The entity is suspected to be an a16z wallet and has transferred $13.05 million USDC into Hyperliquid eight hours ago. This move has led to the purchase of additional HYPE tokens, with the total staked position now standing at 52.01 million tokens. The average price for these purchases is $67.2, with a current float value of $95.18 million.
The same entity had previously spent $66.4 million USDC on HYPE at $81.3 just one week ago, making it the largest known institutional holder on the L1 perpetuals venue.
Despite the significant investment, the price of HYPE is currently trading within a relatively narrow range, with an upper resistance level at $88.28 and lower support at $81.36. The 50-EMA at $83.23 continues to act as a key support level, while the 200-EMA at $72.86 provides longer-term structure.
The technical indicators suggest a measured pullback to the 50-EMA before any potential test of the upper band.
