AAA Launches Web3 Panel for Blockchain Disputes
The American Arbitration Association (AAA) has launched a specialist Web3 Panel to handle disputes involving blockchain systems, smart contracts, digital assets, tokenization, and autonomous transactions.
The panel's five initial members bring together legal, academic, and technology experience to address complex commercial conflicts that combine familiar contract questions with technical evidence and cross-border activity.
According to the AAA, the Web3 Panel will handle business and consumer cases under its existing arbitration and mediation rules. However, parties must still have an arbitration agreement in place before the specialist panel can hear their dispute.
The panel's scope extends beyond cryptocurrency, covering agentic commerce and autonomous transactions that involve software or artificial intelligence systems negotiating, authorizing, or executing agreements with limited human involvement.
