Aave Axes Six Underperforming Blockchains from Lending Reserves
Aave, a prominent DeFi platform, is proposing to wind down its lending reserves on six blockchains that generate less than $5,000 in quarterly revenue. According to LlamaRisk's economic analysis, Sonic, Scroll, and zkSync each generate less than $5,000, while Metis, Soneium, and Aptos each generate less than $1,000.
The proposal would put $4.1 million of debt on a staged exit path that keeps existing positions open during the initial step. LlamaRisk's analysis cites oracle, monitoring, and operational support costs as exceeding revenue in these low-revenue blockchains.
Aave's Request for Final Comments (ARFC) covers 25 lending reserves with $12.8 million supplied, based on LlamaRisk data dated July 28. The ARFC is still under discussion on Aave's forum thread.
