Aave Deposits Surpass $30B Amid Rebound from Drawdown
Aave's deposits have reached $30 billion, according to its founder and CEO Stani Kulechov. This milestone marks a significant increase in deposits for the third quarter of this year, with a 30% rise compared to previous periods.
Kulechov announced the news on August 22, stating 'liquidity is back'. However, it's worth noting that this figure is below the protocol's all-time high, which was reached in mid-2025 when net deposits surpassed $50 billion. The current total also sits below the peak TVL reading of over $40 billion seen in early 2026.
Aave has a long history, having started life as ETHLend in 2017 before rebranding and pivoting to a liquidity pool model in 2018. Its governance is managed through the AAVE token, which gives holders voting power over protocol parameters, risk configurations, and treasury allocations.
