Aave Deprecates 50 Asset Reserves, Winds Down Deployments Across Six Blockchain Networks
Aave, one of the largest decentralized lending protocols in the cryptocurrency industry, is undergoing a significant overhaul. The protocol plans to deprecate 50 low-adoption asset reserves and scale back deployments across six blockchain networks.
The affected assets represent approximately $98.1 million in supplied assets and around $15.6 million in outstanding debt, totaling over $113 million. According to Aave founder Stani Kulechov, this restructuring aims to simplify operations, improve capital efficiency, and focus development resources on higher-usage networks.
The move is part of a broader effort by decentralized finance (DeFi) protocols to optimize network deployments and strengthen the sustainability of their ecosystems. By concentrating efforts on more active markets, Aave seeks to improve operational efficiency without affecting its core mission.
