Aave Deprecates 50 Low-Adoption Assets, Winds Down Six Chain Deployments
Aave, a leading decentralized finance (DeFi) protocol, has announced plans to deprecate 50 low-adoption asset reserves across its lending markets.
This move aims to reduce exposure to inactive markets and give users time to exit positions safely. According to Aave's founder Stani Kulechov, the changes will touch $98.1 million in supply and $15.6 million in debt.
The affected assets include Bitcoin liquid-staking wrappers FBTC and eBTC, which have seen a significant decline in deposits from roughly $72 million six months ago to about $16 million now.
