Aave Deprecates Low-Activity Reserves, Shuts Down Six Blockchain Deployments
Aave is taking steps to reduce its economic and technical risk by deprecating dozens of low-activity asset reserves and shutting down six blockchain deployments. The protocol will affect approximately $98.1 million in supplied assets and $15.6 million in outstanding debt.
The affected markets include Sonic, Scroll, Aptos, zkSync, Metis, Soneium, and Aptos. Aave founder Stani Kulechov said the changes are part of a broader effort to reduce the protocol's risk surface as per the new Aave Risk Framework and Technical Asset Listing Framework.
LlamaRisk helped prepare the recommendations that led to these changes. They found that most of the assets included in the proposal have either remained below Aave's required usage thresholds or experienced substantial declines in deposits.
