Aave Ditches Six Blockchains Due to Low Revenue
Aave, DeFi's largest lending protocol, is streamlining its operations by planning to wind down six smaller blockchain deployments. The decision comes after a review found that keeping these markets alive cost more than they earned.
The affected blockchains are Sonic, Scroll, zkSync, Metis, Soneium, and Aptos, which generated less than $5,000 in quarterly protocol revenue each.
Aave founder Stani Kulechov stated that the markets have 'low adoption', contributing to their decision. The review also found that deposits fell significantly on these platforms over six months, with some experiencing drops of up to 95%.
