Aave Founder Sounds Alarm on Proposed Ethereum Improvement Proposal
Stani Kulechov, founder of Aave, has expressed concerns about a proposed Ethereum Improvement Proposal (EIP) that aims to reduce issuance in proportion to the ETH staking ratio.
The proposal seeks to address centralization issues by reducing the reward rate for stakers as more ETH is locked up. However, Kulechov argues that this could lead to institutional players, such as ETF issuers and exchanges, continuing to stake despite low returns, consolidating control in their hands.
Kulechov suggests that individual validators would be pushed out by the reduced yields, making it harder for them to operate. He recommends reviewing the impact on individual validators and tax implications before proceeding with the proposal.
