AAVE Price Explodes 13% in 24 Hours, But Overbought Territory Raises Reversion Risk

AAVE's price surged by 13.21% in 24 hours to $139.79, breaching its upper Bollinger Band and reaching a high of $145.09 before settling at $139.79. This significant move has left the cryptocurrency overbought, with momentum indicators at multi-month extremes.

The increase was driven by real capital rotating in, as seen in Binance spot turnover of $65.6 million in 24 hours. Every meaningful moving average is now deep in the rearview mirror, with AAVE trading above its 50-day, 20-day, and 7-day moving averages.

The structural story behind AAVE's move is a familiar one for DeFi majors: it operates as a dual-leverage play during risk-on regimes. When Bitcoin strengthens, on-chain borrowing activity tends to accelerate, benefiting both the protocol and its token.

While the bullish read is undeniable, with active buyers still in the market and a steep positive cross in the short-term EMA structure, warning lights are also flashing. The RSI is approaching the mid-80s, indicating overbought territory that historically precedes sharp reversion events.
