Aave Unveils MCP Server for AI-Powered DeFi Data Access
Aave has launched an official MCP server that allows AI assistants to read live protocol data and build transactions. The tool is built on Aave Kit, ensuring that results align with the protocol's own front-end numbers. This move marks a shift towards interoperable protocol interfaces and challenges third-party wrappers.
The MCP server exposes various functions, including read operations for chains, markets, and reserves, as well as position queries and transaction building capabilities. The tool simulates actions and reports resulting health factors before preparing transactions, setting a new standard for AI-driven access to DeFi data.
Aave's server holds no keys and cannot move funds. It delivers first-party accounting, raising security expectations across lending platforms. The company has also proposed a standardized technical framework for asset listings across V3, V4, and Horizon.
