Aave, a leading decentralized lending protocol, is taking steps to simplify its operations and reduce risk by deprecating 75 low-adoption asset reserves. This move aims to concentrate on high-risk assets and active ecosystems.

The protocol will also wind down deployments on six blockchain networks: Sonic, Scroll, zkSync, Metis, Soneium, and Aptos. These changes are expected to impact around $98.1 million in supplied assets and $15.6 million in outstanding debt.

Aave's new risk framework and technical asset listing framework will enable the protocol to better assess existing markets and list new assets. The overhaul is designed to make operations more efficient, reduce maintenance costs, and enhance risk management.
