Aave Winds Down V3 Deployments on Six Blockchains Due to Low Revenue

Aave, a major decentralized finance (DeFi) player, is planning to wind down its V3 deployments on six blockchains due to low revenue. According to LlamaRisk, a risk service provider for Aave, these chains generate less than $5,000 in quarterly protocol revenue at current balances.

The affected blockchains are Sonic, Scroll, zkSync, Metis, Soneium, and Aptos. LlamaRisk's proposal would freeze new activity on these chains, redirect nearly all interest revenue to the Aave treasury, and reserve stronger unwind levers for later.

Existing positions would remain open initially, but later steps could alter rates, collateral thresholds, and oracle pricing. The plan is designed to minimize immediate liquidation risk while preserving stronger levers if balances remain.
