Aave's MCP Server Revolutionizes DeFi with AI-Powered Transactions
Aave has launched an official server that connects AI assistants directly to its lending protocol. The Model Context Protocol (MCP) server, launched at mcp.aave.com, allows any MCP-compatible AI assistant, including Claude, ChatGPT, and Cursor, to read live data across both V3 and V4 of the Aave platform.
The server pulls numbers directly from Aave's own systems, rather than relying on training data or a third-party wrapper. It supports reading wallet positions, market rates, and governance data, along with building transactions for actions like supply, borrow, withdraw, and repay.
Aave says users can ask connected assistants plain-language questions and get live answers pulled straight from the protocol. This means users can check their wallet's current health factor, compare stablecoin supply rates across markets, or prepare a supply transaction for a set amount.
However, it's essential to note that none of these actions execute automatically. Every transaction the server prepares comes back unsigned, and the user's own wallet completes the signing. This is a crucial distinction, as it rules out any assistant directly moving funds on its own.
