ABTC Posts Record Q2 Mining Output Amid Falling BTC Prices
American Bitcoin Corp. (Nasdaq: ABTC) has reported its second-quarter results, showing a record mining output of 932 BTC, up 14% from Q1's 817 BTC. The company's revenue came in at around $67 million, an 8% increase from the previous quarter.
Despite a 12% drop in Bitcoin prices during the same period, ABTC's infrastructure investments have delivered real hashrate gains, allowing it to increase production while others might be struggling. Michelle Tankimovich, newly appointed Head of Investor Relations, emphasized that this is an infrastructure scaling story rather than a short-term price chasing play.
The company's net loss narrowed significantly to approximately $57.15 million, down from Q1's $81.79 million, with GAAP earnings per share coming in at -$0.80 and adjusted EBITDA remaining negative at around -$45 million. Gross margin compressed slightly to 49%, down from 52% the prior quarter.
With a Bitcoin treasury of approximately 8,002 BTC as of June 30, ABTC's satoshis per share metric grew roughly 11% quarter-over-quarter, demonstrating that even in a tough pricing environment, each share represents a growing claim on Bitcoin.
