Abu Dhabi Royal Backs Trump-Tied Crypto Bank Venture
A high-ranking royal from Abu Dhabi is backing a significant stake in a crypto bank venture tied to Donald Trump's family, according to a recent report. Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed Al Nahyan's group has reportedly acquired a 49% stake in WLTC Holdings, the parent company of World Liberty Financial's proposed US trust bank.
The holding company, StringZ Holding RSC, is affiliated with the UAE national security adviser and chairman of artificial intelligence firm G42. The US authorized exports of advanced AI chips to G42 in November 2025, months after Washington and Abu Dhabi agreed a broader AI cooperation framework.
World Liberty Trust Company received preliminary conditional approval from the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency on August 14. However, the trust bank cannot begin operating until it satisfies the OCC's pre-opening requirements and receives final approval.
