ADA Price Plunges as Cardano's Low Transaction Counts Suggest Ecosystem Stagnation

Cardano's ADA token has struggled to regain its footing in the market, ranking among the weakest-performing crypto tokens over the past year. Since its all-time high near $3.10, ADA has plummeted to around $0.16 at press time.

The token's on-chain metrics tell a concerning story. The Cardano network logged just 21,700 transactions over the past day, a steep drop from roughly 57,000 at its peak. This pattern of low transaction counts has been consistent across recent trading and much of this year, with daily Transaction Count hovering between 11,000 and 20,000.

Exchange activity also suggests that whales are dominating ADA trading on centralized exchanges, leading to net selling pressure over the past two weeks. Spot Average Order Size data shows large investors controlling enough liquidity to influence an asset's performance.
