The Abu Dhabi-based ADI Foundation is working on an institutional blockchain ecosystem called ADI Chain. This Layer 2 technology, built on top of Ethereum, aims to provide a platform for regulated institutions and governments to deploy blockchain applications.

ADI Chain uses zero-knowledge validity proofs to process transactions outside of Ethereum before submitting them for final settlement. This design allows for faster and less expensive transactions while maintaining the security and transparency provided by Ethereum.

The ADI token is used as a utility token within the ecosystem, paying transaction fees and supporting smart contract execution. The foundation's goal is to bring one billion people in emerging markets into the digital economy by 2030, with an initial focus on the Middle East, Africa, and Asia.
