'Adults' Season Finale Leaves Viewers on Hook with Surprising Plot Twist
FX's 'Adults' series has concluded its second season with a cliffhanger. The show, which follows five friends living together in NYC, had been building up to a romantic connection between two of its characters.
The finale, titled 'Vote for Paul Baker', saw the group rally against Paul Baker's (Jack Innanen) bid for president of the Bayside Terrace Homeowners Association. The incumbent president's daughter threatened to report them for violating zoning rules, but they managed to convince locals not to vote for Paul Baker.
Meanwhile, Issa (Amita Rao) had a heart-to-heart with Anton (Owen Thiele), realizing he has feelings for Paul Baker and encouraging him to pursue them. Unbeknownst to them, their conversation was broadcast live on the news.
The finale ended with a plot twist: Samir (Malik Elassal) and Billie (Lucy Freyer) were revealed to be hooking up in Anton's room, not Paul Baker and Anton as initially assumed. Series creators Rebecca Shaw and Ben Kronengold have expressed excitement for a possible third season, hinting that the group's decisions will have consequences.
