AERO Soars 19%, But Aerodrome's Weak Earnings Raise Valuation Concerns
Aerodrome's native token AERO has surged by roughly 19%, making it one of the market's top daily gainers. The increase in value came amidst on-chain capital and exchange activity supporting the rally.
The protocol's Total Value Locked (TVL) rose from $247.96 million on August 19 to $271.16 million six days later, according to DeFiLlama. This measured TVL expansion suggests steady demand rather than excessive capital inflows, which could reduce the risk of sudden volatility while supporting AERO's recovery.
However, the exchange market reveals a more aggressive positioning shift. The Long/Short Ratio on exchanges such as Binance and OKX remained above the neutral level of 1, standing at 1.035. This suggests traders expected AERO's recovery to continue, but rising leverage could increase downside risks if momentum weakens.
Aerodrome's protocol-level Earnings, however, remain a concern. The company reported Q3 2026 Earnings of negative $6.78 million, marking its largest quarterly loss since Q3 2025. This raises questions about whether the token is overvalued and if investors will sell their holdings if Aerodrome's profitability continues to decline.
