Africa Bitcoin Corporation Delays UK Listing Due to Technical Matter
Africa Bitcoin Corporation (ABC), formerly known as Altvest Capital, has delayed its UK listing on the Access segment of the Aquis Growth Market. The company had planned to begin trading in Britain at 8 a.m. on Monday, August 17, but announced a delay due to what it called a 'technical matter' in a market announcement issued in Johannesburg on Friday, August 14.
ABC did not explain the nature of the technical issue or provide a replacement date for its listing and accompanying share placement. The company said that London remains on its expansion roadmap and that its secured private-credit business, existing listings, and planned September investor program in London remain unchanged.
The postponement affects a relatively small capital raise of approximately $338,000 (£250,000) before expenses, which was raised by placing 1,086,957 new ordinary shares with investors at 23 pence each. The proceeds were expected to be used as general working capital and would have given British and European investors access to ABC's shares in sterling while expanding its international shareholder base.
ABC will provide an update on the revised date of the admission and placing 'in due course,' according to a statement issued by the company.
