Africa's Stablecoin Velocity Fuels Crypto Gaming Boom

Share

Jasper Hoekert, Chief Marketing Officer at DuelBits, believes Africa is one of the most significant long-term opportunities for crypto casinos. The region's rising stablecoin adoption and digital-first player base are forcing operators to rethink their approach.

Africa stands out as one of the world's fastest-growing crypto regions, with Sub-Saharan Africa accounting for 60% of global stablecoin inflows. Nigeria is a key market, ranking sixth globally in crypto and driving 60% of Sub-Saharan stablecoin inflows. In fact, 95% of Nigerian players prefer to receive payments in stablecoins rather than local currency.

Hoekert emphasizes the importance of localization, warning that operators cannot generalize across the continent. 'Africa isn't just one huge market, it's dozens of unique markets with different payment habits, sporting preferences, and player expectations,' he says.
