AFX Announces Goodwill Plan Following $24.15M Bridge Exploit
Decentralized derivatives protocol AFX has announced that it will unveil a goodwill plan for users affected by its $24.15 million bridge exploit on August 3.
The attack, which occurred on July 22, saw the theft of approximately 24.15 million USDC from an AFX-operated custody bridge.
AFX's investigation found that the breach originated from a social engineering campaign against one of its developers, who was tricked into cloning a malicious software repository.
The attacker then used the compromised device to gain access to internal development systems and eventually uploaded a malicious Groovy plugin to the protocol's JFrog artifact repository.
