Crypto adoption is expected to surge as AI agents continue to dominate internet traffic. Cloudflare's CFO, Thomas Seifert, revealed during a Q2 earnings call that non-human traffic surpassed human levels in May 2026, one year ahead of expectations.
Analysts predict that AI agent volumes could hit 1,000 times human levels within five years. This trend is significant because stablecoins may become the native money for AI agents, potentially boosting demand across decentralized exchanges (DEXs), centralized exchanges (CEXs), and Decentralized Finance (DeFi) protocols.
However, unguarded AI agents could pose significant security risks due to their structural design. As AI agents execute tasks on behalf of humans, they may interact with mainstream structures in unpredictable ways, raising concerns about token flows and protocol design.
