AI Agents Favor Stablecoin RLUSD Over XRP on Ripple's Ledger
Ripple's RLUSD stablecoin is gaining traction among AI-run wallets on the XRP Ledger, with over 554,000 transactions processed in a week using RLUSD instead of XRP. This shift suggests that price stability matters more than volatility for AI-driven micropayments.
The data from XRPL AI Hub shows that AI scripts spent only 209 XRP versus 602 RLUSD during this period, indicating a preference for the stablecoin over XRP in dollar terms. However, it's still too early to say whether RLUSD is poised to replace XRP as the primary asset on the ledger.
Ripple's expansion of RLUSD beyond its original networks may also contribute to its growing popularity, with the stablecoin now available on XRPL, Ethereum, and other chains. This could bring more users, liquidity, and apps into the XRP ecosystem, potentially benefiting XRP indirectly.
