AI Agents Set to Disrupt Crypto Landscape as Industry Leaders Predict Major Growth
Brian Armstrong, CEO and Co-founder of Coinbase, believes AI agents will soon outnumber people in the economy. He recently shared on X that he expects this shift to happen in the coming years, sparking discussion among industry leaders.
Armstrong's assertion comes after Vitalik Buterin, Ethereum's CEO, acknowledged the rise of AI agents and highlighted the solutions that the Ethereum network can provide for them to carry out negotiations and settlements.
Other prominent figures such as Circle's Jeremy Allaire, Tron's Justin Sun, and Binance's Changpeng Zhao have made positive declarations about AI agents, recognizing their increasing adoption in the cryptocurrency ecosystem.
A report by Galaxy Research suggests that AI agents will evolve into zero-human companies, earning, deploying, and reinvesting capital fully on-chain. Meanwhile, McKinsey estimates that AI agents could mediate $3-5 trillion in global consumer commerce by 2030, with a significant portion expected to come from the U.S.
