AI Agents Will Use 'Computing Currency' to Replace Dollars: Arthur Hayes
Arthur Hayes, CEO of Flop Labs, believes that AI agents will use a currency linked to computing resources, not dollars or Bitcoin. He expects an 'agent economy' to take shape, where AI agents assign work to one another and exchange payments without human involvement.
The agent economy will require a new means of payment, as transactions between AI agents will increase rapidly. Hayes argues that existing stablecoins and Bitcoin are limited for AI agents because they're not directly tied to computing resources and were built around humans and governments.
Flop Network, unveiled recently, rewards providers of computing resources with its native token, FLOP. The project plans to launch without a presale or VC funding and is considering a 20% supply airdrop.
