AI Companies Urged to Fund Trump Accounts Amid Image Concerns
David Sacks, former White House AI and crypto czar, is urging artificial intelligence companies to contribute to Trump Accounts. He believes this would give children a financial stake in AI and strengthen public support for the technology.
In a post on X, Sacks said that Trump Accounts could make children 'a direct owner in the American economy.' He called on AI companies to follow the example set by SpaceX President Gwynne Shotwell, who donated $325 million in SpaceX stock to Trump Accounts.
The donation, which pledged one share of SpaceX stock for each of over 2 million American children, is held until they turn 18. Sacks argued that contributions from AI companies would 'do much to improve the public's image of AI.'
Other supporters of Trump Accounts include Robinhood Markets Inc. CEO Vlad Tenev and Bill Ackman, who praised the initiative as one of Trump's strongest.
