AI-Driven Abundance Could Amplify Bitcoin's Scarcity
Metaplanet CEO Simon Gerovich believes that the spread of artificial intelligence (AI) could make the scarcity of Bitcoin even more valuable. He notes that AI is reducing production costs and increasing supply across various industries, including software, content, and analytics.
In a post on X, Gerovich explained that in an age where it becomes easier to produce more of almost anything, value will shift to things that cannot be increased no matter how much intelligence is applied. He emphasized that Bitcoin's scarcity is not upheld by anyone's restraint, but by the rules of the network itself.
Gerovich highlighted Bitcoin's hard cap of 21 million tokens and noted that it cannot be copied or diluted. He also pointed out that Bitcoin can be used for payments anywhere in the world, 24 hours a day, making it the scarcest asset worth owning in an age of abundance.
