AI-Driven Threats and Opportunities Rock Cryptocurrency Market
Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson has warned that the rapid development of artificial intelligence (AI) poses a significant threat to the cryptocurrency market. According to Hoskinson, AI tools are becoming increasingly powerful, making it easier for attackers to find vulnerabilities in code and automate attacks.
Hoskinson emphasized that basic protection should be built in several directions at once, including insurance mechanisms for non-custodial wallets and bridges, stricter security requirements for projects, and the ability to return funds to investors in the event of serious incidents. He also highlighted the importance of convergence between Web2 and Web3, as users increasingly expect AI services, privacy, digital identification, and compliance in one framework.
However, Hoskinson sees an opportunity in AI-driven mass adoption of cryptocurrencies. Franklin Templeton believes that AI agents could become a major factor in this growth, conducting micropayments among themselves at speeds and costs beyond traditional banking infrastructure.
