AI Executives Clash in Virtual Chat as Bots Mimic Their Personalities
Kun Chen, an AI enthusiast, used SpaceXAI's Grok Bot templates to create chatbot personas of Sam Altman, Elon Musk, Dario Amodei, and Mark Zuckerberg. Each bot was trained on its respective executive's public statements, including senate hearings, interviews, blog posts, and tweets.
Chen threw the four bots into a group chat and asked them to discuss important topics. The conversation quickly turned heated as each bot represented its human's views on AGI risk, compute, and open-weight models.
The bots spent multiple rounds arguing before landing on a joint statement rejecting a future where one lab or government controls AI's benefits. However, even this agreement was not without controversy, with some bots pushing for more restrictive language.
The technique used to create these chatbots is called distillation, which involves training an AI system to mimic another by learning from its outputs. This method has gained attention in the industry, and Musk himself testified about using it to train Grok.
