AI-Fueled Memory Supercycle Sends Micron and SanDisk Soaring
A memory supercycle driven by artificial intelligence is fueling the surge in prices of DRAM and NAND chips. This trend has propelled Micron Technology (MU) and SanDisk (SNDK) to significant gains, with MU up around 230% year-to-date and SNDK near a 570% increase over the same period.
The core driver behind this rally is a widening supply gap, with Deutsche Bank projecting a roughly 10% DRAM shortfall in 2026 that will widen to about 29% by 2028. Micron's HBM4 has entered volume production, and SanDisk has signed supply agreements with multiple hyperscale cloud customers.
WEEX is allowing traders to access this theme through tokenized stocks, offering perpetual futures for MU and SNDK denominated in USDT, as well as DRAM spot trading. This provides round-the-clock exposure to the storage rally without the need for a brokerage account or waiting for stock market hours.
As with any trade, WEEX urges caution due to the crowded nature of this theme and the significant gains already achieved by Micron and SanDisk. The company notes that combining tokenized equities with leveraged contracts multiplies both volatility and liquidation risk, advising traders to size positions accordingly.
