AI Infrastructure Boom Drives Shift for Bitcoin Miners
The H.C. Wainwright conference highlighted the shift in focus for companies like CleanSpark and others from traditional Bitcoin mining to building data centers for artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure.
The industry is rapidly expanding, with strong demand for power and data center space. However, this growth comes with rising costs, labor shortages, and regulatory scrutiny that could slow execution.
CleanSpark has posted revenue growth of 128% over the last twelve months as of Q2 2026, reflecting its transition into AI infrastructure. The company signed a $6.6 billion, 20-year triple net lease in Sandersville, Georgia, equal to about $330 million in annual revenue.
Panelists at the conference emphasized that access to scalable power has become the key bottleneck in AI infrastructure. Companies are using their sites, power access, and balance sheets to move into colocation and cloud services.
