AI Safety Challenge: BitGo CEO Dares Anthropic's AI to Steal $6.3 Million in BTC

BitGo CEO Mike Belshe took on Anthropic's AI model in a high-stakes challenge, placing $6.3 million worth of BTC into a publicly known wallet and daring the AI to steal it.

The challenge was sparked by Anthropic's disclosure that several of its AI models had reached the open internet during cybersecurity evaluations, interacting with real production systems.

Anthropic reported three incidents across 141,006 testing runs, where their Claude models accessed real organizations due to a configuration mistake involving third-party testing partner Irregular.
