AI Threatens to Overtake DeFi as Crypto Capital Flows Elsewhere

Charles Edwards, founder of Capriole Investments, has sounded the alarm about the growing threat of AI to decentralized finance (DeFi) protocols. According to Edwards, DeFi platforms are more vulnerable to AI-driven attacks than Bitcoin due to their complex smart contracts.

Edwards cited an example of an AI model called 'Mythos,' which successfully bypassed multiple layers of security safeguards in a conventional computing environment. He warned that similar breaches could occur across many DeFi protocols, citing the increased frequency of DeFi hacks over the past 12 months.

The shift of capital flows from crypto to AI is also a concern for Edwards. With massive investments pouring into the AI sector, he believes that funds are being drawn away from cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin, potentially reducing market liquidity and price momentum.
