AI Unicorn Cognition Snags Ex-Coinbase Lawyers Amid Regulatory Fears

Cognition AI Inc., a leading developer of artificial intelligence technology, has made two significant hires from Coinbase Global Inc. to bolster its legal team as it navigates potential regulatory oversight.

The new recruits are Paul Grewal, former top lawyer at Coinbase, and another in-house lawyer from the company, who have joined Cognition AI's key legal roles.

Grewal has become the chief legal and global affairs officer at Cognition AI, which was valued at around $26 billion following a recent $1 billion fundraising in May. Devin, an AI agent developed by Cognition AI, counts the US government among its clients.
