AI Wallets Favor Ripple Stablecoin Over XRP Amid Price Volatility
The XRP Ledger has seen a significant shift in transaction volume, with AI wallets favoring Ripple's USD stablecoin (RLUSD) over the native token XRP. According to data from the XRPL AI Hub dashboard, RLUSD saw 602.27 units processed in transactions over the past seven days, while XRP saw only 209 transactions. This discrepancy represents a 105% difference between the two assets.
The shift is attributed to XRP's price volatility, which has driven automation away from the token. AI wallet operators have linked this ongoing trend to XRP's recent price movements, with the token experiencing a major rally in late August before settling within the $1.38 to $1.50 range. At its current price of $1.4027, the cost per transaction for XRP has become restrictive for software programs executing frequent, ultra-small payments.
As a result, bots have focused fully on RLUSD for operational efficiency, protecting their operating budgets from market fluctuations and ensuring predictable budgeting for ongoing operations. This strategy helps them protect against volatile cryptocurrency prices and maintain stable cash flows.
