AIxCrypto Holdings Dumps Crypto Holdings for Robotics Pivot Amid Heavy Losses
American technology microcap AIxCrypto Holdings (AIXC) has made the decision to fully liquidate its digital asset portfolio and wind down its crypto treasury strategy. This move comes as a result of significant financial losses, with management recording an unrealized loss of around 50%. According to AIXC's reporting as of August 31, it sold off substantial amounts of Bitcoin (33.49 BTC), Ethereum (497.56 ETH), Solana (6,325.92 SOL), and smaller positions in LINK, BNB, and ADA. The company has attempted to downplay the loss of XRP holdings, describing them as 'immaterial'.
AIXC plans to use the funds from this sale to relaunch its business and pivot to the robotics market through the RoboShare platform. This is not an isolated incident, with other small-cap corporate players making similar moves in the past. Remixpoint, a Tokyo-based company, previously cleared out its altcoin holdings to purchase energy storage systems, retaining only Bitcoin on its balance sheet.
However, this trend reflects a shift towards more pragmatic investors, rather than panic selling. Institutions are changing their tactics and entering the XRP ecosystem through direct investments in Ripple Labs' business, as seen with Kinetics funds' SEC filings. Meanwhile, Evernorth (XRPN) continues to hold a substantial amount of XRP (~473 million) on its balance sheet as it prepares for a Nasdaq listing.
